This siding project in Cambridge, MA was finished in January 2022. A three-decker in deep navy lap siding with light gray bays, natural cedar accent bands, stacked mahogany porches and bright orange entry doors on each level.
The blank side wall of the three-decker is the clearest read: navy lap siding running three stories with no interruption except punched windows in white casings and a small glass bay at the ground floor. From the street corner, the bays step out in light gray with natural cedar bands under the windows, and the stacked porches with turned columns and stained rails sit to the right. The third photo catches the same rear wall mid-job, sheathed in printed housewrap with rigid wall insulation being set from pump staging spanning the yard.
The job included stripping the walls, adding continuous rigid wall insulation over taped housewrap, then installing lap siding in three colors — navy field, light gray bays and cedar accent bands. Windows were re-cased in white and new trim was run at the eaves and corners. Pump staging was set the full height of the building for the three-story elevations.
