This deck building project in Framingham, MA was finished in September 2024. A raised deck resurfaced with warm gray-brown composite boards, finished with white railings, black balusters, wide stairs and a clean vertical PVC skirt hiding the framing below.

The deck wraps the back of a cedar-shingled cape with a gabled dormer above and a lower rear ell holding a set of French doors. New composite boards run the full width in one direction, meeting a picture-frame border at the outer edge. A wide stair descends at the far corner onto a small landing. The most visible change is the perimeter: a solid white fascia band caps the framing, and a run of vertical PVC boards closes in the space beneath, leaving the graded soil below clean and dry.

Existing framing was reused and resurfaced with composite decking and a new railing system of white posts, top and bottom rails and black balusters. The perimeter rim got a wide PVC fascia, and the open under-deck area was closed with vertical PVC skirt boards. Stair treads were replaced to match, with white stringers and a boxed bottom step.

Details visible in the photos include vertical PVC skirt panels, under-deck storage doors, black aluminum balusters. Materials on the elevation: composite deck boards, white PVC skirting, white railings with black balusters, composite stairs.

Built with AZEK, Trex. The finish shown is warm gray-brown. One project manager ran the job from first measurement through final walkthrough. Deliveries were staged so materials weren't sitting on the lawn for weeks.
