We completed this deck building job in Danvers, MA in October 2022. Two stages of a pressure-treated deck build: a finished landing with square-baluster railing and box steps beside the house, and the joist frame set on concrete piers before boards go down.
Three photos track one pressure-treated deck from framing to railing. The last shows the joist layout: a doubled outer beam carried on short PT posts in galvanized post bases, joists hung off a ledger against the gray siding, with old concrete and rubble cleared below. The other two show the finished platform running along the back of the gray colonial, tied to a set of French doors at one end and a paneled door at the other. A second-floor balcony with lattice infill sits above, and white lattice panels close in the deck skirt.
The deck was framed new: posts in metal bases, a doubled rim beam, hangered joists off a ledger fastened to the wall, then PT decking laid across. Railing went up as PT posts, top and bottom rails and square balusters, with a short stair run at the door end. The perimeter was finished with a white band board and lattice skirt panels.

Deliveries were staged so materials weren't sitting on the lawn for weeks. One project manager ran the job from first measurement through final walkthrough.
