Framingham, MA - deck building completed August 2024. A new white sliding patio door was framed into the gray shingle wall, opening onto a warm brown composite deck with black aluminum railings and a wide stair run down to a gravel landing.
The deck stands well off grade on pressure-treated posts set in a bed of gray stone, with a white fascia band closing the rim joist all the way around. A closer photo takes in the stair run: composite treads with white risers, a black post at the bottom landing and a matching rail carried up alongside the house wall. From up on the deck, the boards run out toward the yard with black posts and balusters framing the lawn, garden beds and a small outbuilding beyond.
Framing was built new on treated posts over stone, then decked and finished with a wrapped white rim and stair risers. Black aluminum rail was set on the deck perimeter and carried down the stairs with its own posts and returns. The house wall was cut back and trimmed where the new rail and deck met the existing shingles.
Details visible in the photos include new sliding-door opening, composite deck stairs, black railings with post caps. Materials on the elevation: composite decking, black aluminum railing, white sliding patio door, white PVC door casing.
Products used: AZEK, Trex, Harvey. The finish shown is Spiced Rum (closest manufacturer match). Permits, inspections and dumpster logistics were handled by us. Progress photos went to the homeowner as the job moved along.
