A door installation project our team completed in Wayland, MA - April 2023. A colonial refinished in light gray shingle-style siding with white trim and black shutters, showing a columned entry portico with a pedimented gable and bluestone steps leading to a wide covered porch.
The front elevation shows a two-story colonial with black shutters, an attached wing to the right, and a low covered porch running toward the garage. A second angle takes in the bluestone landing and a broad bluestone patio sweeping from the porch steps to the driveway apron. Close in on the portico, the pedimented gable sits on square columns with a paneled ceiling, and the black door is framed by a run of stone steps with rough fieldstone risers. The porch photo shows a gray composite floor, white columns on paneled plinths, and grid windows behind.
Both the portico and the side porch were rebuilt: new columns on plinths, boxed beams, and a beadboard-style porch ceiling with recessed lights. The porch floor and steps are composite over a framed deck with a white skirt, and the stone landings were rebuilt with cut treads over fieldstone risers. Window casings and corner boards were replaced across the elevation before the shingle-style cladding went on.
