We completed this siding job in Sudbury, MA in January 2022. The finished front shows warm-white lap siding with black shutters framing a plum entry door under a stacked transom, while a second photo captures the existing weathered wood deck before work.
The before photo shows a dark-stained wood deck riding high on bare posts above a lower patio, lattice skirting on one side, an AC condenser tucked underneath and a roof deck rail visible above. Another view catches the existing white gambrel wall with black shutters under dark shingles. The finished photos are a full rebuild of that outdoor space: a new sunroom clad in white lap siding with corner boards and big glass panels, and a new deck in warm brown composite alongside it, edged with white posts, a white top rail and black metal balusters, looking out into the woods.
The old deck's dark boards, rails and open posts are gone, replaced with composite decking and a white rail system with black balusters. The sunroom is new construction, sided to match the house with lap boards, corner boards and a wrapped gutter, and its glazed walls were set into finished casings. The deck ties into the sunroom wall, so the two had to be flashed and trimmed together where they meet.
Details visible in the photos include transom-topped entry, black shutters, plum front door. Materials on the elevation: fiber cement lap siding, white PVC trim, black shutters, painted entry door.
Materials on this job: James Hardie, Marvin, Trex. The finish shown is Arctic White (closest manufacturer match). Pricing was agreed in writing before the crew started, and the number at the end matched it. The work carries a written workmanship warranty alongside the manufacturer's material warranty.
