We completed this siding job in Westborough, MA in December 2021. Two elevations show the home wrapped in creamy off-white lap siding with white casings, a garage wing under a matching shingle roof, and a bay window on the rear wall.
Two front angles and one rear shot document a gable-roofed colonial with an attached garage wing stepped down to the right. The front wall runs five bays across with paired lanterns flanking the entry door and a brick walk leading to the granite-edged step. From the side, a weeping tree screens part of the wall and a brick chimney climbs the left gable end. The back elevation is the plainest: a long unbroken run of lap siding over a poured foundation, broken by a raised deck with white rail and lattice below, and a wide picture window on the ell.
Both stories of the main house plus the garage wing were reclad, with siding carried across the gable ends and around the rear ell. Corner boards, window casings, and frieze trim were installed in white. The crew worked around the raised rear deck and its lattice skirt, and kept the brick chimney and existing walkway untouched.
