A siding project our team completed in Southborough, MA - January 2022. Both photos show the home clad in warm cedar-red lap siding with dark brown window trim and fascia, wrapping a gabled rear bump-out and a small cantilevered balcony above a new cable-railed deck.
This is a contemporary with intersecting steep gables, a skylight in the main roof, a brick chimney climbing the front slope and a shed-roofed entry canopy over the front door. One photo is taken from the rear deck looking back at sliding glass doors and the roof planes above; another catches the same rear wall in full sun with the cantilevered balcony off the upper bedroom. The third shows the street side, where the roof sweeps nearly to the ground on the left and the entry sits under a small gable with a paver walk.
Siding was replaced on every elevation and carried around the gable ends, the entry canopy and the cantilevered balcony box. The balcony got new cable railing on wood posts and the rear deck the same system, with a fresh stair run and posts set below. Courses were cut and returned at the brick chimney, and window and door casings were replaced in dark trim.
Details visible in the photos include gabled rear bump-out, cable rail deck, cantilevered balcony. Materials on the elevation: rust-red lap siding, dark brown window trim, brown asphalt shingle roof, pressure-treated deck framing.
Specified here: CertainTeed, Harvey. The finish shown is Autumn Red (closest manufacturer match). The same crew that started the project finished it. The site was cleared at the end of each working day rather than only at the end of the job.
