Quincy, MA - siding completed January 2023. A multi-family home re-sided in warm tan vinyl lap siding with white trim and gutters, tying into the original granite block foundation and the stacked front porches.

A tall two-family with a hip roof, a brick chimney at the ridge and stacked open porches on the front, one above the other. New vinyl lap siding covers the long side wall and the front, running past window air conditioners and a bulkhead at grade. The white porch posts, railings and lattice skirt stay in place, and dark stained porch decks contrast with the light walls. Down at the base, the siding stops on a starter course just above a rough-cut granite foundation, with a white corner post and downspout run to grade.

This was a layover installation: new panels went on over the existing wall with fresh trim rather than a full tear-off. Corner posts, J-channel and window trim were installed around each opening, including openings holding window units. Downspouts and hose bib and meter penetrations were cut in and trimmed, and the courses were terminated cleanly at the granite foundation line.
