We completed this siding job in Newton, MA in January 2022. A sprawling home clad in near-black navy lap siding with bright white trim, shown across several elevations including French doors, a gabled entry with transom and diamond-pane accent windows.

The before photo shows a sprawling low house in dark, dull siding under a moss-streaked wood-shingle roof, with an attached garage bay, a stone chimney at the far end and overgrown planting at the walls. The matching after view from the same driveway shows the whole run re-clad in near-black navy with bright white window trim and shutters, the beds cleared and edged, and a red door at the center entry. A third photo takes the side wing from below: navy lap running to a small gable with a louvered vent, new white corner boards, and a downspout to a brick splash pad.

The paired views show the old cladding stripped off across every wing rather than painted over, with new corner boards, window casings and rake trim installed before the siding. Downspouts were rerun to brick splash pads at grade. The stone chimney and the existing roof were left in place and the siding cut to them.

Details visible in the photos include rambling multi-gable estate, French doors, transom-topped entry. Materials on the elevation: fiber cement lap siding, white PVC trim, white-framed windows, slate-look roof.

Specified here: James Hardie. The finish shown is Night Gray (closest manufacturer match). The same crew that started the project finished it. The site was cleared at the end of each working day rather than only at the end of the job.
