Needham, MA - siding completed January 2022. Medium gray shingle-style siding covers the gambrel garage and main house, contrasted by crisp white trim, black window sashes, a dark standing-seam accent roof and a white columned entry.
Two before frames show the house in failing dark blue shingle, with bare patches of raw wood exposed at the second-floor windows, a red brick chimney climbing the gambrel end wall and condensers sitting on a rough grade. The rear elevation is long and stepped, with a wide band of windows over a newly framed pressure-treated deck on posts and piers. The third frame, shot in winter, has the gambrel wing finished in gray shingle with black windows, a dark standing-seam roof over the lower slope, and Grace and housewrap still exposed on the far end.
Failing shingles were stripped off and the walls papered and re-clad, with the gambrel worked in courses under a new standing-seam accent roof. Openings were re-trimmed in white and the entry porch rebuilt on new wood posts with a fresh header. A long ledger-hung deck was framed on posts and concrete piers off the rear wall, and the far wing was left wrapped mid-sequence.
