Photographed in Framingham, MA after the crew wrapped up in January 2022. Work-in-progress photos show the old siding stripped back to sheathing with rigid exterior insulation board going on over the gambrel wall and rear addition before the new siding is hung.

Every photo here is mid-demolition or mid-prep. Two show the gambrel wall stripped and covered in red rigid insulation board, green flashing membrane folded into the window openings, with a new white-trimmed window already set and the old green vinyl still hanging on the adjacent wall. Another looks along a red-boarded wall past a leaning shed to a fenced side yard. The rear addition is caught with its two sliders in place and the walls in foil-faced insulation board, sitting over an old wood deck under an aluminum awning. The front shows the split-level half-stripped, with a dumpster waiting.

Instead of siding straight over the sheathing, the crew added a continuous layer of rigid exterior insulation board and flashed each opening with a self-adhered membrane before any new cladding went on. Window and door openings were re-framed and re-trimmed as they were exposed. The old vinyl came off in sections so the house stayed weather-tight, and the dumpster on the driveway handled the tear-off.

Details visible in the photos include gambrel wall mid-tear-off, exterior insulation layer, walk-out garage bay. Materials on the elevation: rigid foam insulation board, branded insulation sheathing panels, existing vinyl lap siding, asphalt shingle roof.

Materials on this job: James Hardie, Andersen, ThermaTru. Pricing was agreed in writing before the crew started, and the number at the end matched it. The work carries a written workmanship warranty alongside the manufacturer's material warranty.
