A siding project our team completed in Framingham, MA - January 2022. One photo shows the two-family in its original pale worn siding; the other shows it reclad in medium blue lap siding with white casings, new doors, and a fresh shingle roof.
The first two frames are street-level before shots of a gable-roofed two-family with pale worn clapboard, black shutters, window AC units in the upper sash, and a shared concrete stoop under a small hood. A brick chimney rises at the right gable. The third photo is the job in progress from the back: Typar housewrap taped across the upper wall, bare sheathing and a stripped gable end at the left, and the first courses of dark blue lap already run along the lower story. Ladders lean on the wall, a stack of new siding sits on the lawn, and the white porch rail and lattice below are still in place.
Old siding came off down to sheathing, exposed wall areas were re-boarded, and a Typar weather barrier was installed and taped before the new lap siding went up. Work covered the full two-family body, the gable ends, and the rear elevation around a sliding door and a stacked bank of windows. Trim, corner boards, and casings were replaced in white.
Details visible in the photos include gambrel two-family front, paired entry doors, shed dormer band. Materials on the elevation: fiber cement lap siding, white trim, white entry doors, white vinyl windows.
Specified here: James Hardie, Andersen, GAF. The finish shown is medium blue. The site was cleared at the end of each working day rather than only at the end of the job. The same crew that started the project finished it.
