A siding project our team completed in Greater Boston, MA - October 2024. Light warm gray lap siding wraps the ranch with crisp white trim, a new oversized picture window with awning vents below, and new white gutters carried around the eaves and gable end.
The ranch runs long and low with an attached garage at one end and a brick chimney coming through the roof near the middle. A side view shows the full length of the wall above an exposed block foundation, with a side entry door, a bulkhead at the far corner and a downspout carried to grade. The third photo is a close-up of the new picture window: two fixed lights over two awning vents, all in one wide unit with flat casing and a projecting sill against the lap siding.
Siding was replaced across the main house, the gable ends and the garage, with new casing at every opening and around the garage door. Gutters and downspouts were run fresh along the eaves and gable end. The window opening was re-framed and re-flashed to take the wider combined unit, then cased and sealed to the new siding.
Details visible in the photos include large picture window unit, brick chimney, single-story ranch. Materials on the elevation: lap siding, white PVC window trim, white aluminum gutters, double-hung and picture windows.
Products used: James Hardie, Marvin. The finish shown is Light Mist (closest manufacturer match). Permits, inspections and dumpster logistics were handled by us. Progress photos went to the homeowner as the job moved along.
