We completed this siding job in Watertown, MA in June 2026. Mid-project photos show deep navy fiber cement lap siding finished on the upper floor above a balcony, with the lower level still in branded weather barrier awaiting the next course.

Two photos show the house as found: a gambrel-roofed Dutch colonial in badly weathered cedar shingles, streaked black and orange, with a peeling downspout and a second-floor balcony perched over the sunroom. An old sash leans against the foundation. The work-in-progress views show the transformation in layers, with printed weather barrier covering the entire lower story while deep navy siding is already finished across the upper gambrel and the dormer. A new black entry door is hung under the front gable, and the gas lamp post and old wood deck still sit in front of the wrapped wall.

Every shingle came off down to the sheathing, and the whole house was re-covered in a branded weather barrier before the first course went up, so the walls were dried in ahead of siding. Staging poles run the full height at the corners for the gambrel courses. Window and door openings were re-cased in white as the siding met them, and the entry door was replaced as part of the same job.
