A siding project our team completed in Newton, MA - May 2023. A matching set: a detached two-car garage and the main colonial both re-sided in medium blue lap siding with white trim, white garage doors and a columned entry portico.
The before photo shows the main house in chalky white clapboards with a painted portico, worn cross-braced porch rails and a stucco-faced foundation. A second before frame shows the detached garage in the same tired white with a rotting corner board at the door head. The finished rear view shows the house in medium blue lap with white casings, a raised deck with white rail and lattice skirt, and a small gabled hood over the basement door. Another rear angle takes in a second-floor balcony with white rail above a covered porch with grid windows.
Both buildings were stripped and re-clad, with new white casings, corner boards and rake trim installed before the siding went on. The rear deck rail, lattice skirt and the gabled door hood were rebuilt as part of the work. The stone and stucco foundation was left exposed, with the siding starting on a trim board above it.
Details visible in the photos include detached two-car garage, pedimented entry portico, second-story roof deck with railing. Materials on the elevation: vinyl lap siding, white PVC trim, asphalt shingle roof, white garage doors.
Specified here: CertainTeed. The finish shown is Pacific Blue (closest manufacturer match). The same crew that started the project finished it. The site was cleared at the end of each working day rather than only at the end of the job.
