CertainTeed Siding in Newton, MA - March 2022

We completed this siding job in Newton, MA in March 2022. A before contact sheet of the original white house is paired with the finished result: soft sage-green lap siding with cream trim, plus a new pressure-treated stair and landing with black balusters.

The first image is a small contact sheet of before frames: a white clapboard two-family on a stone foundation, with a red-stained deck off the back and bare trees overhead. The finished photos pick up from there. A new pressure-treated deck runs to a black full-lite storm door, with white casings and a sage-green wall behind it. A side elevation shows the green field running the full height above a block foundation, cream casings at every window, and a lattice fence along the property line. A last view catches a gable end and the new deck framing from the driveway.

Siding and deck were tackled together. The walls were re-run in a single lap profile, with cream casings, corner boards and rakes replacing the old white trim, and the siding stopped cleanly above the exposed block foundation. The deck is new construction in pressure-treated lumber with black metal balusters, its ledger tied into the newly sided wall and the boards left to weather rather than stained.
