This siding project in Needham, MA was finished in January 2022. A split-level home with charcoal gray lap siding on the upper floor over a fieldstone lower level, with black-framed windows and white trim; an interior view shows a new bay window with plantation shutters.
A mid-job photo shows the upper floor still in branded house wrap with a black-framed window already set into it, while charcoal lap siding is finished across the lower wall and around a sliding door. A close-up under the overhang shows a bow window opening with the header framing and pink insulation exposed above it and fieldstone wall on either side. Another interior frame shows that same bow window from inside, five sashes set and the sill installed, looking out across the front yard at the crew's truck and material. The wrap-and-window sequence shows the walls were stripped to sheathing, wrapped, and the new units set into wrapped openings before any siding went up. The bow window required opening the header and re-insulating the pocket above the unit before trim went on. The fieldstone lower level was left untouched, with the siding starting on a white trim board directly above it.
