A siding project our team completed in Lynn, MA - January 2022. Light warm-gray lap siding covers this street-front colonial, with two crisp white box bay windows, a gabled entry portico, black shutters and clean white casings throughout.
This is a three-story multi-family on a corner lot, and the photos follow it around. The rear wall carries iron fire-escape balconies stacked two high against new gray siding, with a lattice fence at the property line. The street-facing side shows the gabled entry portico, white porch rails and stairs, and a hipped-roof box bay tucked under second-floor shutters. From the paved side lot the third-floor gable and an exterior stair come into view. The last photo is mid-job, ladders and staging planks up the wall, offcuts and saw stations spread across the pavement below.
Working three stories on a tight urban lot meant ladder jacks and staging planks rather than ground scaffold, and the cutting stations sit right on the pavement below. Every window was re-cased in white, and the siding had to be cut and trimmed around the iron balconies, the exterior stair and the porch roof rather than run past them. The entry portico and porch railing were finished in white to read against the gray field.
Details visible in the photos include twin box bay windows, gabled entry portico, black shutters. Materials on the elevation: vinyl lap siding, white PVC trim, white bay window skirt, black shutters.
Products used: CertainTeed. The finish shown is Sterling Gray (closest manufacturer match). Progress photos went to the homeowner as the job moved along. Permits, inspections and dumpster logistics were handled by us.
