A siding project our team completed in Boston, MA - January 2022. The close-up photo shows warm greige lap siding running tight to oversized cream corner boards, window casings and matching gutters, with crisp vented soffits under a deep eave overhang.
Three views work around a tall three-story city house with a steep slate-gray shingle roof and a projecting front gable. The wall planes carry two tones: darker gray-brown on the gable ends and a lighter tan on the main body, so the massing reads clearly from the driveway. Black-sash windows sit inside cream casings with sloped drip caps, and a shed dormer rides the roof slope above a lower rear ell. At grade, the tan lap runs down to a board-and-batten skirt over the parged foundation.
The exterior was reclad in lap siding with new corner boards, window casings and sill trim built around every opening, including a bay-style projection on the rear wall. New gutter, fascia and a full downspout run were hung along the eave and carried past the meter and service wiring. Basement-level walls got a vertical-board skirt to close out the transition to the foundation.
Details visible in the photos include deep overhanging eaves, oversized cream corner boards, wall-mounted barn light. Materials on the elevation: fiber cement lap siding, cream PVC trim, cream gutters and downspouts, vented soffit.
Products used: James Hardie, Trex. The finish shown is Monterey Taupe (closest manufacturer match). Progress photos went to the homeowner as the job moved along. Permits, inspections and dumpster logistics were handled by us.
