We completed this deck building job in Milford, MA in May 2024. A wide composite deck in warm caramel brown runs off the back of the house, framed by dark brown rails with slim black balusters and set against gray lap siding with white trim.
Two photos look straight down the deck surface, where composite boards run at a slight angle and a single contrasting board cuts across the field as a breaker seam. A picture-frame border closes the edges, and the boards die neatly into a white base trim where the deck meets the wall. A third view runs along the top rail toward a full-lite storm door, gas piping and a carriage lantern on the gray wall. The last photo pulls back to the house itself: a tall dark-blue gambrel elevation with white trim, black shutters and two white carriage-style garage doors set into a fieldstone bank.
The decking is laid over an existing walkout-level structure, with a breaker board and picture-frame border used to close the seams instead of running long boards end to end. Railing is a mixed system, brown composite top and bottom rails with slim black metal balusters, and the posts are wrapped. Where the deck meets the house, the siding was cut clean and finished with a white base band so water sheds away from the joint.
