We completed this siding job in Woburn, MA in January 2022. These are in-progress photos: one shows the brick entry alcove with the door removed and trim stripped, the other a large new opening cut and headed off in the wall for a replacement unit.
These frames are all mid-job on a raised rear sunroom sitting over a walk-out level. One shows the sunroom wall opened up and a three-panel slider set into a rough opening headed with new lumber, the sheathing above still bare where old boards were cut back. Another, wider view catches the whole addition in house wrap with a window bank on the far end, ladders up and tools spread across the old deck boards. The last is a close-up down at the corner post, where rotted sheathing, insulation scraps and split framing are exposed beside a weathered wood railing.
Crews stripped the old cladding to sheathing, cut back and replaced rot at the wall base and corner post, and headed off a new opening for the slider unit. House wrap went on in sequence and openings were flashed as units were set. The existing deck stayed in place as a work platform while the wall was rebuilt.
Details visible in the photos include recessed brick entry alcove, split-entry stair landing, new rough opening framed in the wall. Materials on the elevation: red brick veneer, gray vinyl lap siding, housewrap, wood framing.
