A siding project our team completed in Westborough, MA - August 2022. One photo shows the finished gable end in deep green lap siding over the garage bays with white trim, the other shows the same wall before work in faded tan siding.
The finished photo looks straight up the drive at the garage end of the house, a tall gambrel wall rising two full stories above a pair of carriage-style overhead doors. Four windows are spread across the wall in an irregular pattern, and a gable vent sits near the peak. A shallow shed roof on exposed wood brackets runs across the top of the garage bays, with a service door between them. The second file in this set did not resolve to a photo.
Only this elevation was reclad, so the new lap siding had to die cleanly into the neighboring wall and the existing white trim at the rake and corners. Windows were re-cased, the gable vent was cut in and flashed, and the siding was fit around the bracketed shed roof, the door head casings, and the lattice screen at the far corner.
Details visible in the photos include three-story gable end, double garage under living space, timber garage brackets. Materials on the elevation: fiber cement lap siding, white trim, white carriage garage doors, white vinyl windows.
Specified here: James Hardie. The finish shown is deep forest green. The site was cleared at the end of each working day rather than only at the end of the job. The same crew that started the project finished it.
