A door installation project our team completed in Ashland, MA - June 2022. A deep green fiberglass entry door with a fifteen-lite glass panel and white casing sits in cream lap siding, opening onto a covered porch floored in gray composite boards.

Both photos look into a recessed corner entry tucked under a beadboard porch ceiling. The door sits in a squared white jamb that runs the full opening height, with the head casing dying cleanly into the lap siding above and a fluted corner post marking the return wall. A tall single-hung window with white trim sits on the adjacent wall alongside a small wall-mounted camera. Below the slab, an aluminum sill and a fresh sweep are visible where the door meets the gray composite decking, and the threshold is set slightly proud of the porch boards to shed water.

The opening was refit rather than covered over: the jamb is new, the head and side casings are unbroken lengths butted to the existing siding courses, and the aluminum sill and sweep were set as part of the install. The corner post and porch ceiling were left intact, so the work was confined to squaring the opening, flashing the head, and trimming the jamb tight to the siding.

Details visible in the photos include 15-lite full-view door, white brickmould casing, covered porch. Materials on the elevation: fiberglass entry door, white PVC door trim, cream vinyl lap siding, composite porch decking.

Materials on this job: ThermaTru. The finish shown is hunter green. The work carries a written workmanship warranty alongside the manufacturer's material warranty. Pricing was agreed in writing before the crew started, and the number at the end matched it.
