Photographed in Weston, MA after the crew wrapped up in July 2022. Close-up installation shots show a new white-clad double-hung set into a taped and flashed opening, and a full-lite door hung in a sheathed wall on a bluestone porch awaiting trim.
Two photos show units just set and still open at the edges. A four-panel French patio door sits in its rough opening with black flashing membrane wrapped around the jambs and head, bare framing lumber exposed on both sides, a granite sill and old foundation below. Another shows a similar unit under a standing-seam metal porch roof, still black-flashed and untrimmed, with bluestone steps leading up to it. The finished photo is a different order of thing entirely: paired full-lite doors in a heavy molded casing with pilasters and a projecting cornice, lantern sconces on either side, factory labels still on the glass.
These are openings cut and re-framed rather than simple swaps, which is why the framing lumber shows at the jambs in the in-progress shots. Each unit was set and then flashed with a self-adhered membrane around head and jambs before any casing went on. The finished door shows where that leads: full molded casing with pilasters and a projecting cornice head, set on a bluestone terrace with the sconces reinstalled.
Details visible in the photos include window opening flashed and taped, full-lite door install, temporary plywood closure. Materials on the elevation: new white-clad window, full-lite entry door, structural sheathing panels, flashing tape.
Products used: Pella. The finish shown is pale sage gray. Progress photos went to the homeowner as the job moved along. Permits, inspections and dumpster logistics were handled by us.
