Lexington, MA - siding completed May 2024. One photo captures the wall mid-project with HardieWrap weather barrier, taped flashing, and fresh sheathing around a new window; the other shows the original cream siding and brick before work.
These three frames are all pre-siding. One is shot from inside a room: a new two-lite Marvin unit set in the rough opening with factory labels still on the glass, a brace taped across one sash, and raw framing around the jamb where the old casing came off. Another shows the driveway side mid-tearoff, with stripped metal trim and old siding stacked in front of the garage and a brick chimney standing above the shingled wall. The third is a marked-up planning photo of the front, with hand-drawn notes calling out cedar, white siding, soffit locations, and a 5-inch exposure.
The project began with window replacement and full tearoff of the old wall covering. Field notes on the front photo lay out the material split between cedar and white siding, the corner detail, soffit runs, and the 5-inch exposure to be used. The brick chimney, rooftop solar array, and attached garage all had to be worked around.
