This door installation project in Carlisle, MA was finished in February 2024. A close-up shows a picture window set in wide white PVC casing against light gray lap siding, while the front elevation pairs that siding with black shutters and a stained wood entry door.
One photo looks out through a wide fixed window over a kitchen sink, showing the deck, its white rail and a screened porch off to the side. Outside, the same style of window sits in the lap siding with a mitered white casing and a projecting sill. The third picture is the entry: a pair of stained wood doors with upper glass lights and beadboard panels below, hung under a small shed roof with white casing on both sides and a keypad lock set into the wall.
Window and door openings were cut, flashed and re-cased as the new siding went on. The double entry sits in a re-trimmed opening with new head and jamb casing, and the housewrap and starter course are still visible below the sill where the step is being rebuilt. Old wood steps at the door remain in place pending replacement.
Details visible in the photos include picture window with wide casing, black shutters, stained wood front door. Materials on the elevation: lap siding, white PVC window trim, white sill and casing, black louvered shutters.
Products used: Harvey, ThermaTru, James Hardie. The finish shown is Light Mist (closest manufacturer match). Permits, inspections and dumpster logistics were handled by us. Progress photos went to the homeowner as the job moved along.
